I didn’t get my Seb either/Emma Stone as Mia in La La Land

I suppose every mixtape I make is personal.

I pride myself on the fact that my mixtapes are my mixtapes. Does that make sense? Like, no one else would put the exact combination of songs together in the way that I would.

But some mixtapes are very intimate.

This is one of those times.

This might be the finest ballad of the century. I realize we’re only 20 years in, but I think you could fast forward 50 years and I would feel the same way.

This live version of Sara Bareilles’s gutwrenching “Gravity” is one of those songs that I’m prone to seeking out on quiet late nights.

Surely most of us have experienced that chemistry, that intrigue that draws us in.

Sometimes it works. And sometimes it doesn’t.

I had hoped that this time might be different but I’m pragmatic to the end and knew the odds were itty bitty.
