But it’s always a part of her, a part of me.

Maybe it’s because my DNA is literally British. Or maybe it’s because I spent that semester in London all those years ago.

Even I can’t tell you why I’m such an Anglophile. But I am.

I just returned from 2 1/2 weeks abroad. London, Cambridge, Athens, the Greek Isles (including Paros, Amorgos, Koufonisi, and Iraklia), and Rome were on the itinerary. Rome is a special place and Greece is magical!

But London! London! There’s nowhere else like it!

I’ll acknowledge on the front end that today’s mixtape theme is perhaps less focused and obvious than I typically strive for, but I can feel it and I hope you can, too.

Clearly, it’s filled with British music. But it runs deeper than that — there’s longing, depth, appreciation, and reflection.

Years ago my best pal encouraged me to see the dark, twisted Matilda. It took me a few years, but I finally made it to the Cambridge Theatre…
