Yes, absolutely — that’s why I included the entire next paragraph!

Now obviously some people lie about their marital status. And many people don’t actually want to date. They merely want sex. Or they’re bored. Or confused or uncertain about what they want.

It was a weird realization to have — here is this guy in real life yet I found myself with a different set of concerns than online dating.

Or at least it wasn’t as simple as: “Oh, cute guy. Let me see if I can turn this into a date.” It had its own complications.

In any case, I’ve been writing about dating for a while now and people kept writing to tell me that I wasn’t giving IRL experiences enough of a chance. I wanted to “set the record straight.”

My dating life seems to be a bit of a mess no matter what avenue I go.

At least I can find the humor in it most of the time!
