Of course there are lots of reasons that you aren’t ready to date: you are getting over a divorce or relationship, you are dealing with personal or family crises, for health reasons, you have decided to remain single indefinitely, and a multitude of other compelling reasons.

When I was editing this story, I specifically added in the phrase about staying single indefinitely because I agree that making the decision (for whatever reason) to not date can be a conscious, mature, thoughtfully made choice.

One of my favorite writers, Shani Silver, does such a funny and beautiful job of writing about being single NOT being a fatal flaw! If you haven’t had a chance to read her work, please do so. She’s such a talent!
