We’re on the same frequency today, P.G. Barnett. I actually just tackled another parody — this one is called “Menopause” (to Van Halen’s “Panama”). Now I feel bad for joking about it! But we have to find the humor where we can, no?
Menopause runs early in my family so I’ve been in perimenopause for about 5 or 6 years. But I’m kind of like that woman who has the easy childbirth or easy kid that sleeps through the night immediately.
Meaning: aside from a few hot flashes while sleeping, a few months about 2 years ago where I felt a bit anxious (which is atypical for me — I’m sure that was hormonal fluctuations), and the weight gain (alas, that seems to apply to virtually 100% of women), it really hasn’t been a big deal. I know that makes me an anomaly. Although I do have the kicker of having my periods get closer together (grrr)!
Anyhoo, what a helpful guide for folks out there! Glad you and your wife are coming out the other side!
