A BMT Mixtape
I took some liberties with the title of today’s mixtape, but that’s one of the greatest things about this being Bonnie’s Mixed Tape. My stories, my rules!
It’s probably more accurate to say that I’ve loosely incorporated a celestial and/or galaxy theme through my beloved alternative 80s musical lens.
I wrestled with a couple of these picks because they felt SO obvious. But then I lucked into some live performances of these well-tread alt 80s classics to make them worthy of inclusion.
As always, I’ve unearthed some neglected tunes, forgotten favorites, and live performances to offer something that I hope feels nostalgic yet fresh.
Today’s mixtape is dedicated to Gutbloom for his generous support of this silly endeavor that is BMT.
My two-year Medium-versary is rapidly approaching. I’m blessed that anyone reads what I have to say! (I actually just giggled as I typed that. Truly. I remain astounded.)
But the truth is that my BMT readership is still really tiny given how much effort I’ve put into it. I’ve thought about stopping a couple of times. But there are about 6 people who keep me motivated.
So, thank you, to Mr. Gutbloom and my other followers/friends out there who encourage me!
