Though they’re from LA, I’m surprised you didn’t include the Bangles’ “Manic Monday” on your list.

I love the folklore surrounding it: written by Prince and providing the Bangles with a number 2 hit — Prince’s own “Kiss” would hold the number 1 slot, though, preventing “Manic Monday” from hitting number 1.

I enjoyed your story, Jeremy Helligar! I’m going to spend some more time delving into these.
