Thinkin’ About Tomorrow
A BMT Mixtape
In this suspension of life we’re living through right now, I’m mostly okay. But I feel muted — not silenced just toned way, way down. I’ve felt a bit lost in what to write. If I even want to write.
I wasn’t sure if I had anything to share today, but I recently discovered David Cassidy’s cover of Paul McCartney’s “Tomorrow.” It was still open in one of my browsers and an idea slowly presented itself to me.
It’s been a while since a mixtape has revealed itself to me like this. I love all of my music stories, but this type of mixtape is my favorite. It’s me at my most organic. Whatever this gift is that I have, it’s captured HERE.
You aren’t going to find this group of songs and musicians in one place except in my world. No one hears music quite like me — I can’t create music, but I can create a mood.
I have felt lost for a few weeks and this mixtape feels like the me that’s been missing. It’s a gift to feel normal for a little while today even if it’s inconsequential — a silly BMT mixtape that 4 people will see. Nonetheless, I’m grateful.
The end result of my loose exploration of tomorrow is this mixtape. Favorite vocalists, classic songs, forgotten tunes, and new discoveries. This is my brand of a one-of-a-kind melding of music that you won’t find…
