These 5 Things Transformed My Hair in Perimenopause

Maybe my hair journey can help you, too!

I have PTSD from a horrific very cropped haircut in kindergarten until second grade. I started growing it back out in the third grade and never looked back. By my junior year of high school, I had thick long hair practically to my waist.

I never was a bodacious chick! I’m on the small-chested side. And I haven’t had a thigh gap since I was 11.

But I always had great hair and skin. My hair really was my crowning glory.

My hair length has varied over the decades, but I never let anyone hack it all the way off ever again!

Like so many women (and men) I noticed my hair changing the closer I got to 50.

There’s still so much mystery and confusion surrounding middle age in general and perimenopause specifically. I’ve been on a dogged journey to heal my myriad of symptoms.

Some issues are more challenging to resolve than others. And while certain symptoms are pretty commonplace, others are highly unique.

One of the more universal experiences of perimenopausal and menopausal women is changes in hair. This goes beyond greying to include thinning and overall quality.
