Thanks for the response, "Salty" craig rory lombardi! That photo is moi. When I was younger, people used to say I look like Helen Hunt.

In any case, my dude and I spoke about Europe (his pending trip to France and my various trips abroad in 2018), my Masters degree in Tax/teaching gig at the local community college, Austin real estate, and music.

That’s the thing: it wasn’t just sort-of-dick-pics. That WOULD have been obvious.

Instead: it was phone calls, reasonably intelligent conversations, follow-up texts, and making actual plans.

It wasn’t until the second date that I quickly connected the dots to realize he was “talking out of both ends.” I immediately called him out at that point.

I have about 85% custody of my kid, work part-time at a remote college, my son attends a Catholic school (not a hotbed of single dudes), and have few friends here. I have had exactly one guy ask me out in 4 years. I broke down and inquired about a guy recently: naturally he was married. I made a hasty retreat!

Bottom line: online dating is very acceptable here in Austin for my age bracket. Not a pathetic endeavor (though often frustrating)! I have several friends who met their spouses online.

My friends are shocked that no one hits on me. Guys who meet me in person typically say I look better in person. But, no, I don’t get asked out in the “real world.” I’m not sure people in Austin do much of that anymore. I swear I don’t have resting bitch face either!

In any case, if it weren’t for online dating, I would have NO dating life. C’est la vie! At least I have reasonably entertaining stories!

Queen of mixtapes. Lover of music, travel, and fashion. Authentic sharer of life lessons and dating foibles.
