Your second paragraph is interesting and thoughtful. I have intentionally written nothing (or close to nothing) about the guys I have REALLY cared about, the guys I have opened up to, the guys I have trusted (and vice versa).

I know that my stories in isolation probably do look like me stiff-arming almost any guy that comes my way. While I acknowledge that I’m finicky, it really isn’t the case.

Right now I am protecting their privacy. I may incorporate them into future stories, but I’m not comfortable with that yet. I may need to create a pseudonym in order to feel like I can protect them. It’s something I still struggle with regarding my writing — I’m not really writing “my” stories, I’m writing “our” stories.
