I do know a few guys whose divorces took longer than a year, so it’s possible your friend’s guy will get divorced yet. BUT! Even if we assume that he is sincere in going through with the divorce, he will need a lot of time to heal, especially since the divorce is dragging on.

You are giving your friend good advice! Sadly, from my own experience, sometimes folks have to make the mistake to learn from it.
