I’ve contemplated writing some version of this for over a year. After the incident from this spring, I knew I had a pretty full story ready to be fleshed out. But I’ve been very nervous to write about this!

In the end, I decided to share it because a fellow Medium pal shared that he’d had some similar experiences here. I realized that what happened to me wasn’t isolated but a common (or at least common enough) experience that there might be value in sharing my thoughts.

I’m relieved to know that you think my tone was appropriate. Some stories require more care than others!
