Thank you for the response, Alison! I definitely learned a lot from that experience. I think in his case he really did not care about me and did not want to date anyone at that point. I should have read the signs better, but he certainly wasn’t making himself clear.
I don’t give him much thought, but his behavior certainly warranted to be shared so publicly even if I will refrain from using his name. (I’m not sure I even remember it anymore!)
Nonetheless, the main lesson I acquired during that experience definitely struck me. And I will most assuredly be sharing this with my 13 year old son as he continues to grow older.
And finally, “the love of cream cream” is borrowed (with permission) from one of my beloved Tallahassee neighbors, a true writer. In fact, her mother was the catalyst for one of my most read stories and my favorite “personal” stories, “Home Is Not Where the Heart Is”.
My friend wrote that phrase ages ago and I was so tickled by it that I hijack it whenever I can. She also used the term “Confederate bugle” and I’m determined to squeeze that in somewhere! I’m just biding my time.
Stay warm, friend!
