A BMT Mixtape
It’s still strange to be an introvert and write publicly. To share strips of my soul with a mostly unknown audience.
Some of you have become friends to me even if we’ve never met in person.
Some of my mixtapes are silly and frivolous. Others are moody and swoony.
In their own way, each is personal to me.
Nonetheless, some of my mixtapes are more intimate than others. Not necessarily in the romantic sense.
Today’s mixtape is highly unusual — I’m going to intentionally hold back on context for today’s theme.
I know what it is. I know who I have in mind. A specific person…yes.
But it’s bigger than that person. And I like to think my friend understands that.
I can only hope that my message translates today. Because this is one of my most personal mixtapes.
“Leaving” maybe be one of the Pet Shop Boys’ more plaintive offerings, but I appreciate its sophistication and maturity.
