My barely 14 year old already knows how much I despise his sloppy “Sorry, Mom.” He was being rude to me while we were back home in Tallahassee earlier this summer. My dad overheard and told my son he should apologize.
My son responded that I don’t like apologies. I admitted that my son was correct. But quickly added that that doesn’t let my son off the hook for his unending rude treatment towards me!
But, yeah, I ABHOR apologies. (I typically accept them from others, but am dubiously smirking on the inside.) Show me actions! Because apologies rarely translate into a change in behavior. I’m skeptical until you SHOW me!
