Little Five Points! I bought my Doc Martins there sometime between ’88 and ’90. You couldn’t get Docs in my hometown, Tallahassee, back then.

Excellent point about the unexpectedness of Xymox. I feel that way about Pop Will Eat Itself or Shriekback’s “Nemesis” or Cabaret Voltaire.

I’ve been digging the Comsat Angels recently. I don’t know how I missed them back in the day! In fact, I KNOW I’m going to do a story on Comsat Angels one of these days.

So happy to be “acquainted” with you. It’s truly special to meet someone who can dig deeper into the 80s and very early 90s alternative scene!

I wrote a story about House of Love that I think one person read. Some of this music is pretty off-the-grid for most folks, but I LOVE it. I like a really broad range of music, but 80s alternative feels different: it’s the most “me”.

Anyhoo, thanks for reading and responding!
