A BMT Mixtape
I’ve been working on a completely different mixtape all week. But sometimes THIS happens and I have to heed the call.
I think my soul is craving something weightier. This feels right.
So I’ll postpone my original, sillier mixtape for another day and go with this mood instead.
I have a couple of musical birthday dedications featured today.
My first crush’s birthday is today. We’re still pals! He’s one of my musical kindred spirits and one of the earliest supporters of my writing about music.
Wishing you a very happy birthday, Brian!
Plus my pal, the very British, very talented, and very self-deprecating, Jon Scott, recently turned 35! Happy belated birthday, my wonderful friend!
I thought about dedicating the land picks to Jon Scott and the sea picks to Brian. But then I thought I should reverse that.
In the end, I’m not sure how to split these tunes up. I’ll simply dedicate the entire mixtape to both of them and let them sort it out!
