Keep in mind that I don't share publicly every single guy I date. Recently I met someone who is a stand-up guy. No romantic connection, but he's actually the second friend I've made since moving to my tiny town. I'm glad I took a chance on meeting him!

I'm not sure if you saw my "Mrs. Robinson" story, but had there not been such an age gap between the guy I wrote about, I feel certain we would have dated very seriously and fallen in love. Oh, well.

I had a conversation (well, multiple conversations) with my therapist about this. She has been reassuring in that the majority of guys out there she hears about follow this pattern of being extremely disconnected and not really looking for anything resembling a relationship. That has been reassuring and depressing.
