I think there is something deeply mistaken about seeing ‘consent’ as our sole guiding moral when it comes to romantic relationships.

I’ve written several stories about my feeling out-of-place, a throwback in today’s dating realm. THAT sentence really struck me!

I see many people latching onto that and failing to see a wider view — some sense of emotional foundation and connectedness before adding sex into the equation. My asking for even a few weeks or months is typically seen as unacceptable. Somehow casual sex (or at least sex within the first 3 dates) has become the norm rather than the exception.
