I've previously shared that I found the film incredibly frustrating. (I'm currently watching a black and white Polish new-wave film from the late 50s so I consider myself quite patient and open-minded about film in general.) But I almost walked out on Spencer a few times. Kristen Stewart is fabulous, the cinematography is top-notch, and costumes are likely to get an Oscar-nomination, too. But it's very slow and tedious at points - upon reflection, perhaps more editing would have helped - and there's something else I can't articulate that prevents me from recommending it in general. (I would only recommend this film to a select few friends.)

Maybe I can put it this way: House of Gucci looks accessible for the majority of film goers. Spencer is definitely less palatable for the masses. (Which is fine - I'm all about indie movies for a select audience)
