I've never encountered something like this before. I don't think I would be what most guys would want for this type of "role," but Edward was ready to make a real go of it. It was definitely flattering! It really was simple: not being particularly attracted to him + chaos + being priority #50 = unfilled Bonnie.

It still feels pretty self-indulgent to write these stories, but my goal remains: being honest about middle-aged dating. This story was important for a few reasons: (1) it was unusual and interesting, (2) I think it's important to highlight the quality guys out there, and (3) selfishly, I get tired of hearing from the occasional reader (and society in general) that I, as a woman of a certain age, am supposed to shoot lower. That advice regarding my matches is inaccurate. I'm a quality, high-value chick. It's okay for me to seek out high-quality men. And finally, ha! A date with me...in many ways depends on my date. I can be a bit of a chameleon. I'm going to be quirky and break various dating rules (I'll end up discussing something deep and/or ask about prior relationships), but the rest tends to depend on my date and how he's responding to me.
