I’ve definitely gotten to the point where I like to meet someone as soon as possible. Spending a lot of time “getting to know someone” beforehand is too often not a good indicator of what we will look like in person.
My true preference is to meet within a few days of matching and correspond a bit during that small window.
The window is short enough that the energy spent on any extra talking/texting for those few days isn’t wasted per se. It can be fun, a way to get to know each other, a pleasant distraction from the monotony of my everyday life, and help me feel like I’m not walking into a completely blind situation.
From my experience anything further out than about a week feels like it will probably unravel. And, agreed, two weeks would feel pretty unlikely to happen at all.
Thank you for reading and responding, Jonathan! Looking forward to more dating tales from your world!
