If you’re hesitant, then you’re hesitant. I wouldn’t try to suddenly be someone you’re not. It’s going to seem awkward. And that will be unattractive.

But I don’t think you need to be paranoid about physical contact. There isn’t a rule about it other than the fact that you shouldn’t assume there will be any nor should you force something. (I know you understand that!)

There isn’t a clear-cut answer here. I’ve had guys make me uncomfortable (though I’m really good at keeping them at bay) and I’ve had guys that I instantly wanted to touch me. (I just shrugged.)

Some of those guys were more bold and confident in our energy, chemistry (like Spicoli). Others were a bit timid but ultimately made a move. Still others kept their distance. (I won’t make the first move on a first date. That’s not my personality.)

I’d rather someone be respectful, though, than be presumptive.
