My latest mixtape title comes from a line of one of today’s songs.
I suppose today’s theme is a mood. I found several songs and realized that I was drawn to drama and intensity but not in a loud and boisterous way. These songs share a boldness but do so quietly.
Passion can be deceptive — so many associate it with being loud and in-your-face. But it exists in subtler ways, too. I love exposing and sharing those unexpected moments of passion that might get overlooked elsewhere.
You’ll find outside the box music featured today. Even the few familiar songs included are reimagined. That was intentional on my part — chances are there will be something about each of these songs that is totally new to you.
“I Saved the World Today” is a new-to-me Eurythmics discovery.
Pretty and hopeful with a dash of swirly sultriness. Annie Lennox’s voice, a little Beatles-vibe, and a nice melody make for a winning combination.
