I thought I’d share with you that I have three 40-something guy friends who are in very serious relationships right now with similarly aged women. (One always dated younger, but was dissatisfied with how he was treated. I had encouraged him to date closer to his age if possible. Sure enough, his current girlfriend has been a much better fit and is more appreciative of him.)
I date younger, so I certainly wouldn’t discourage you from doing so. You might get lucky…or not. But I think you’ll know pretty quickly if the new age group is working for you.
I will add that one of my guy friends is dating a woman who just turned 50. She is stunning, financially well-off, and intelligent. He is over the moon! So opening your age limit might not be a bad idea (on either side of the equation, so to speak).
It’s so tricky for most of us — best of luck! Maybe casting the dating net a bit wider will prove fruitful!
