I lived in London for a semester and visit whenever I can get back - that's part of the appeal of living in the historic district of Savannah. It's the Deep South with a heavy dose of Europe. A pretty great spot in my mind! (Charleston is fantastic, too, so you may want to consider a stop there in the future.)
