I have struggled with this because: (1) he did officially tell me “goodbye” over 2 years ago and (2) he does have a girlfriend. It’s been difficult to see myself as anything other than the villain or inappropriate one.

Nonetheless, I am glad I found the courage to broach the subject with him one final time.
