I am SO glad you responded and shared that tidbit about Charleston/Savannah. You have solved a mystery for me! (I'm from Tallahassee originally and recently learned that the original plantation owners valued land more than an ostentatious lifestyle. That resonated - most houses in Tallahassee have a larger lot size as compared to the house size. It's baked into the fabric of the city.) Now I understand why Charleston and Savannah have a different feel - it stems from their history.
