I get asked that time from time: why not use the “real world” to find dates?

I have answered that in several places, but think I will draft up a short story as a proper response so I can refer folks to it in the future. (Very short answer: my life is not really set up for that right now and I have had almost no luck with that here in Austin anyway.)

But, yes, in theory I love the idea of meeting the guy of my dreams while I’m buying a Cherry Coke, skating, or listening to a concert!
