Before I started blogging, I used to share my random music thoughts on Facebook. This was a post from 2014 when I lived in Austin and was fortunate enough to see so many greats. I was referring to "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" obvs.
I'm still coming down from tonight's performance. Darlene Love finished the show with this one, of course! I had to double-check...yes, last December I posted this song and wrote a bit about it. I could have NEVER guessed that I'd get to hear it in person just one year later! As she started singing, I realized that there are few songs that I have wanted to hear live more than this song. I will remember hearing this song with Ms. Love's triumphant, exuberant, joyous delivery for the rest of my life! Interestingly, I listened/watched some of the more recent David Letterman performances, but they failed to capture the energy that Darlene Love projected tonight. I thought this one was a more accurate portrayal.
My writing hasn't evolved very much. (Objectively, I am self aware enough to know that you, for instance, are a much better writer than I.) But my enthusiasm about music is as intact as ever!
